By the age of 49, I’d already had a heart attack. I was on a lot of different medications, and I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, GERD, heartburn, sleep apnea, early Type 2 diabetes and swelling of the feet. I was 100 pounds overweight, and I could barely walk up a flight of stairs to my condo without running out of breath.
I started the Rice Diet and lost 12 pounds in the first week. I lost 31 pounds in the first month! My blood sugar went down from 146 to 102, I was able to walk two miles a day, and I no longer had GERD. Soon I was sleeping better and I was able to stop taking several of my medications. After nine months on the Rice Diet, I had gone from 275 pounds down to 173 pounds. My waist went from 48 inches down to 32 inches.
